Description

This module examines some of the theories and methods associated with educational research through a consideration of definitions and purposes of research, approaches to framing the enquiry, methods, analysis and writing up the research project. The unit develops further the introduction to education research and preliminary study of research methodologies introduced earlier in the course. Students are introduced to a range of research methods which are critically evaluated. The unit aims to give those working in the education and sector the confidence, critical understanding and skills to enable them to embark on their own educational research project.
